RE/MAX OF SOUTHERN AFRICA CLAIMS TOP SPOT IN INTERNATIONAL RANKINGS

The Southern African contingent of the RE/MAX global property brand is a force to be reckoned with, evidenced by the fact that RE/MAX of Southern Africa has come out tops in the group's global rankings, which were recently announced at the RE/MAX International Convention held in Orlando, Florida.

South Africa cleaned up the top five positions in the Top 100 Teams International category, which excludes US and Canadian teams. These rankings are based on residential sales commissions for 2009. Lance Heroldt of RE/MAX Masters clinched first place and accepted his award at the RE/MAX International Convention.

Chris Pearson of RE/MAX Address came in second and Glenn Joselowitz of RE/MAX Masters was ranked third, with Gerlinde Moser of RE/MAX Living and Deanne Hamilton of RE/MAX Panache ranked fourth and fifth respectively. All in all 43 teams falling under the RE/MAX of Southern Africa brand claimed rankings in top 100 international team positions.

In the Top 100 Teams Worldwide rankings based on residential and commercial commissions earned in 2009, and including US and Canadian teams, Lance Heroldt of RE/MAX Masters was ranked 75th.

In the Top 100 Individuals International category, which excludes US and Canadian individuals, Roma Naude of RE/MAX Property Merchants came in fourth, with a further 18 RE/MAX of Southern Africa Sales Associates or Broker/Owners listed in the Top 100 Individuals based on residential commissions earned in the 2009 period.

Says Adrian Goslett, CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa: "These figures go to show that professional South African realtors can compete on a global level and win."

He says that while South Africa may not have felt the effects of the recession as severely as other parts of the world, the local property market was still an extremely challenging space in which to operate during 2009. "This makes the fact that so many RE/MAX of Southern Africa teams and individuals ranked so highly on a global scale even more impressive."

Goslett, who believes that 2010 is the year of opportunity, is confident that RE/MAX of Southern Africa will continue to perform well in the year ahead and exceed all expectations and targets, given the exceptional start to the year the group has already experienced.
